About Us
Kisumu Neuroscience Initiative is led by Kenyans in the diaspora, and friends of Kenya, with a vocation in the various fields of the neurosciences, to promote, encourage and give back to the people of Kenya. We are a part of a 501(C)(3) nonprofit organization registered in the State of Georgia, USA and are appreciative of involvement and support from the Kenyan community and friends of Kenya.
Our Impact
Through our partnerships with the Kisumu County Government, Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Teaching and Referral Hospital and medical industries in the diaspora, we continue to carry out short-term medical mission trips focused on healthcare delivery and the education of healthcare providers.

Our Why
We have chosen to focus our current approach in the city of Kisumu, which has not had services offered in the neurosciences. Located in western Kenya, it is the country’s third largest city, and is the largest commercial center in Western Kenya. It has a large tertiary hospital which has been the main referral destination for several of the county hospitals in Western Kenya. We aim to make a difference by raising support in the diaspora and in turn offering clinical services, which would have otherwise not existed, to the people of Kisumu and the roughly 5 million people in its catchment area.
